I wasn't going to say anything else but the whole "troll" things is pathetically stupid, it give me the irits . It is in multiple threads and pollutes good conversations with agro. Some people can't seem to take others disagreeing with them.
Since the entire thread is now a matter of record for anyone to follow the progression, perhaps it would be instructive to do that to see exactly who was concerned with info pertinent to your OP, and who got personal with "agro" first. Some people use forums for information and others apparently for entertainment and some of those to just pick fights - so called "pissing contests".
It is worthy of note that I purposely understated the length of time that manufacturers have been making and selling SLI/Crossfire to discover whether Cascade was actually concerned with "gross inaccuracies" or just looking for things to disagree with. In this case he chose to "correct" me even though it serves to prove my point (and disprove his) that multiple graphics systems must be somewhat more common than he wants to believe (or posits for the purpose of making a straw dog) or they wouldn't be continued, not just for 5 years, but 10, bit of course that conclusion was "overlooked".
Additionally when I pointed out a niche in which even 3 and 4 cards are common, he chose to "quote" me as saying "vast" a word I never used as well as to continue to assert that I had recommended an evap cooler in a PC, even going so far as to say "you most certainly did" just before he sort of retracted. Frankly I don't see how it is possible to construe that from anything I wrote.
These and other choices in the progression is why I used the phrase "troll nipping at my heals" because it appears to me he was looking for a fight not merely concerned with helping someone with data, even after I tried to break it off. It seemed to me that he earned it.
Now it seems you have added to that with "pathetically stupid" which is apparently to some less "agro" than "troll". I'm beginning to wonder if this isn't some sort of nationalism? If you'd like, perhaps we can invite a mod in here to follow this progression and arbitrate to determine from a non-invested source just who "cast the first stone", who is trying to help, and who is nit picking non-essential details just to beat their chest.

I agree some people do use forums for information yet others use it to grandstand and when that grandstanding gets shown to be bluff they resort to calling people trolls.

It is then worthy to note you thought more of trying to trap Cascade than you did of trying to be helpful to someone who asked a genuine question. Is that really how you try to help people?

You will have to take that up with him not me.

Only a moment ago you admitted to "purposefully" understating information, which therefore is no help at all to someone who wants facts. How does that show you are concerned with helping someone with data? It actually shows you just wanted to take an active part in the "pissing contest".

Everytime someone is called a troll it is by someone who either hasn't got an answer they want or the person they are calling a troll is disagreeing with them. As I pointed out Cascade and I have had our difficulties, or have you conveniently forgotten I wrote that in this very thread? and if I remember correctly you and I have had our difficulties. Please point out to me where I have called you a troll, please point out to me where Cascade has called you a troll.
As for the "nationalism" thought you are having, well, we may both live in the same country but that does not mean either of us are nationalistic and bringing that up in this thread appears to be a tool designed to bring both myself and Cascade to the attention of the Moderator team and shield yourself from any action they may deem required.
Lets face it, Cascade got your goat and you didn't like it so you started on name calling. Now you've decided to come after me because you have taken offence at me saying the name calling is pathetically stupid. After all that you have to push things that one step further by going on the "nationalism" path. What's your next step? are you going to follow through with Godwin's Law? You've done everything else so it seems to be the next logical step.

Would you please explain how it matters if it was 5 or 10 years? It has been going on for years and is still going on. THAT was the point..NOT nitpicking the date. Would it matter if it was a Monday or a Friday? Come on be reasonable. I didn't damage the info one bit. It still lends credence to the idea that some numbers must be buying this stuff. I was in the process able to discover whether my instinctive reaction was justified or not. I didn't jump to conclusions and just "fire back". How is that a bad thing?

I can't see how that follows. I didn't nitpick his posts. He did to mine. I even tried to bow out and get back On Topic and yet you call me "stupid" and defend him?

So what would make you happy? If I mention how something feels or how I wonder what could be the answer that's bad, but if I verify it, that's bad, too. Come on man, read back. Did I really give you bad info? Again it was not I that nitpicked NOR got personal. Yet you choose to defend him. So exactly what is the reason? It truly makes no sense to me. I honestly tried to help you consider different approaches which is why people usually start threads like this. "No good deed goes unpunished" is that your position?

That, Sir, is absolutely false and is a matter of record now. Read back and see for yourself. The only manner in which he "got my goat" was, to use your word, "agro" by continuing to cherry pick, nit pick and use personal taunts. There is nothing technical I wrote that I would retract. So why would I be miffed except at the manner? At the very least you certainly must see that even if somehow I am completely wrong, misguided, whatever, I must not think so or I wouldn't offer to have this thread supervised and checked out. So exactly how is that indicative of someone whose "goat was got"? Where is this "bluff"?
