[Solved] Subtitles and subtitle software

I installed a few subtitle programs: Subtitle Composer, Gnome Subtitles, Gaupol, Subtitle Editor and Aegisub.
I have tried very hard this last hour to create something with these programs. I downloaded a song from the internet (just for practice) and wanted to add subtitles to it.

The workflow is horrendous. I can't get it to work.

Please give me your experiences. What program do you use? And what workflow do you have?

Just read about security issue relating to subtitles gaining control of systems.

Anyway, forgot to try http://subworkshop.sourceforge.net/

If you can't get any to work then I'd think that it a user sort of issue. I'll totally agree that it can be difficult to use some of the linux programs.

Subworkshop looks great and I installed it on my computer. Alas, it doesn't open mp4 files. A known bug.

I am using Gnome Subtitles now. What I didn't get from the start is that you have to slow down the video so that you can type the text with ease and at the right spot.

Thank you for your answers.
