i have just installed fedora 3 and i have an usb modem not ethernet. how can i configure this modem to connect to the internet instead of having to switch to windows? the modem is a sagem fast 800 ppp

go to menu->intenrnet->kppp and setup your modem.

sorry it didn't work. i have a broadband service through talktalk and thus a usb broadband modem. however i don't have an ethernet connector on the modem. there is a patch for the modem to allow it to run on linux (it is called eagle) however being a complete novice to linux i dont have a clue how to issue commands. it is a steep learning curve but i want to conquer this and look at different os from microsoft. so any advice offered is very welcome. i don't mean to seem a complete idiot but having never having used dos this is a comp[lete mystery to me.
