I know this is a problem faced by many people on the boards and I was just hoping to get some further information to help me fix my problem.

Mandrake 9.2 installed fine on my computer and I was looking to install RH9 or FC1 instead. Everytime I try to install them, the computer freezes after detecting my monitor. I am thinking it's a hardware issue, but I have no clue and can't be certain. Here is a rundown of my setup:

AMD 2600 XP+
ABIT KT7-A Motherboard
NVidia 5200fx
Soundblaster Audigy LS
2 x Netgear fa311
2 Western digital 120 gb drives


I think alot of people tell me it's an issue with the video card, but then why does it hang when detecting the monitor?
