Installation Freezes at random points during copy.
Hi I have an Athlon XP 2400+ with 512MB of RAM
A Radeon 9600 graphics card.
An 80GB drive or a 40GB drive.
My motherboard is a GigaByte 7NF-RZ NForce 2 chipset.
When I install Fedora (or in fact Ubuntu, same issue...) the installation freezes at a seemingly random point during installing the files.
It's a freeze so there is no relevant log message.
The furthest I have got through is about 50%
I have a 100% working Windows install so the hardware seems to be fine...
I have tried changing the drive to LBA, changing the bios settings to fail safe, installing the latest BIOS, swapping DVD rom drive, swapping hard disk, I have tried re-burning the ISO's.
Any thoughts of a way to proceed, I am at night #3 on this installation and my hair is getting pulled out by the handful.
Even a setting which would allow me to revert to a less efficient and working install would do the trick !
Dave.
