Hi, Ive just got a new Pc with 2 200GB Seagate Baracuda sata hdds.
The Motherboard is Asus P5VDC-MX.
The problem i am getting is that the fedora installation won't detect the hard drives. I also tried knoppix live but it does not detect the disks also. However, if i boot with my ms-dos bootable cd, i am able to get the drives and i have even formatted them. I am pretty sure that i did not enable any raid interface on the motherboard. can anyone tell me what the problem is and how to correct it?
I downloaded the source for the Sata driver for the kernel 2.6.15. Can anyone tell me how to use this during my installation? Must i compile it before hand?
