well you will NOT be able to run a 64 bit os on a 32 bit computer.

download the correct iso .
from http://fedoraproject.org/get-fedora.html

http://download.fedoraproject.org/pu.../12/Live/i686/

Fedora-12-i686-Live.iso

Hi John VV thanks for your reply
I thought x86_64 will work on any x86(386,686 ...)and 64 bit OS too.

What is the difference between Live Media and Install Media ?

I know using live media we will be able to run directly from CD/DVD but using Install media we need to first install it to Hard disk .

Apart from this is there any difference ? I mean is Live media contains all the features of Install media ?

X86_64 will only works on 64 bits machine.
A Live media is mostly also a install media , but you can try it first because it is also a full working OS

ronlau9,I checked and found that Live media image sizes around only 650 MB only where as Install media version is 3.0 GB .

so what is additionally included in Install media version image ?

seeing as fedora is such " a bloody FAST development distro" the install cd,dvd, and "live" were OUT OF DATE BEFORE they were released .

so USE THE LIVE 650 meg cd to install

but you can ,if you want,
download a 3 gig dvd
install it
them install 3 more gig's of updates
or install a minimal system with the live cd and add what you need .
People PLEASE READ - READ the documentation!!!
