fedora 16 on alienware x51 with win7 dual booting

I just got my new x51. I shrank the hard disk and then tried to install with usb stick and the dvd. They both don't work. Just goes into the second line.

Any guidance?

Thanks,

PS: I must have fedora not ubuntu

Wow that was past.
This is what goes after trying with the live usb stick

"Trying to allocate 1003 pages for vmlinuz
Got pages at *****
[Linux-EFI, set up=0x1011, size=0x3eadd0]"

Actually it flashes too fast, then I google with the first line, it lead me here.

have you read and reread the install instructions ?

the dvd install should go smooth unless you replace the windows MBR

also did you HEED every warning about the "new-ish" windows 'hidden' recovery partition

that windows feature causes more problems than the windows OS

most Linux os's will default to this "recovery" partition
if you do not override it .

Thank you John VV. I am no guru, could you kindly be little bit more specific, about the part that I should pay more attention to in installation instruction.

Another thing I tried was creating the live usb stick with 32bit version; it did not even go to that page.

Thanks.
