FC4 Install error - cannot re-read partition table

Hello guys,

This is a weird problem i'm having while installing FC4 on my IBM R51 laptop. I have windows xp, windows 2003 and Mandrake 10.1 installed on my laptop. I have tried SUSE 10.0, Mandrake 10.1 and ubuntu on triple boot with windows xp and 2003. All of them installed properly with ubuntu being exceptional as I got my wireless working doing nothing. But i had firmware problem with SUSE and Mandrake with wireless card. well it's Intel 2100 miniPCI card.

Now, I was trying to do a fresh install on Mandrake partitions. This is the partition table on my machine.

/dev/hda1 - winxp
/dev/hda2 - IBM service partition
/dev/hda3 - Win2003 server
/dev/hda5 - /boot - 103MB
/dev/hda6 - swap - 1024MB
/dev/hda7 - / (Mandrake 10.1) - 6.4GB
/dev/hda8 - NTFS

when i try to install in graphical mode, everything goes on fine. i selected custom install and selected the packages i want. i paritioned the hard disk with disk druid and did nothing except asking the installer to format /boot and / paritions during FRESH installation.

when i press the final NEXT button to perform the installation, then i get an error message saying that "/dev/hda5 should not be mounted....error re-reading the partition table...cannot send the status of the partition to the kernel...../dev/hda5 should not be mounted until reboot" . I ignored the message and pressed continue. the installation is stopped and displays the error details on the screen and gives me the option to reboot the machine.

So, please help me with this problem.

Cheers,

Praveen.
