Unhappy FC3 Dual Boot/Separate Drives

Over the Summer I successfully installed Fedora Core 2 on the secondary drive of my AMD Athlon (1.4ghz) based system. I enjoyed using this distro for several months before storage space became an issue and I inevitably resorted to allowing Windows to reclaim that space.

I've since purchased a 40 gigabyte drive and am experiencing difficulty installing Fedora Core 3. After several attempts I got the impression that the iso files I'd downloaded may have been corrupt, so I popped in the cd's I'd used previously to complete a successful install of FC2.

Everything appeared to have run smoothly when I ran the cd's, but after being prompted to restart my system I received the error 'Missing Operating System'.

On each attempt, as with the previous successful install, I allowed Anaconda to complete the auto reformat of the drive I'm installing on.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

I'd appreciate any advice. I would really love to get FC3 installed, but would settle for success on FC2 (and an uprade later)

Lightbulb Install Solution

After booting up my pc the day after I realized that I'd set my system BIOS to boot my secondary drive.. much to my relief after switching back to the other drive I was warmly greeted by the Grub boot loader

While I was unable to complete a successful install of FC3 (using the cd's I burned from the iso's) I was able to perform an upgrade after installing FC2.

I'm not sure if anyone else has run into this scenario. But if you're having a problem making the switch you may want to try an upgrade instead of a clean install.
