Error formating / partitioning in FC6

Hi, i am trying to install fc6 in a hard disk with windows xp and fc5 in the same disk with no success, because, after i choose the packages to install, where the installer starts to format the partitions, the installer fails near the end of formating / partition, i says that it cannot format that partition due to a seriously error and need to reboot.

Changing to console mode with ctrl-alt-(f2-f5), i get this error messages:

One of the consoles
Code:
Warning: Could not read Block 0: Attempt to read block from filesystem resulted in short read.
Writing inode tables: 6/2ext2fs_mkdir: Attempt to read block from filesystem resulted in short read
while creating root dir.
Another Console

Code:
<3> Buffer I/O error on device sda2, logical block 0
...
A bunch errors like this
<4> end_request I/O error: dev sda, sector 369044963
<6> sd 0:0:0:0 SCSI error: return code= 0x00040000
The strange thing, is that i have tried after installing fc5, and gave me no problem, i think its not a hardware problem.

I dont know, if someone knows what could be the problem, hope someone can help me with this, thx

P.D. My Partition layout is: ntfs (winXp partition), /boot, /, <swap>
P.D. And sorry my bad english (lol)

Smile Problem solved

I have solved my problem, i formated the partitions using ReiserFS instead of ext3 and voila, it worked. In the boot: promtp when booting from the dvd o cd, type

Code:
boot: linux reiserfs selinux=0
For enabling ReiserFS in the partition type field (In Manual Partitioning). I dont know why, but ReiserFS cannot work with selinux enabled, thats why it must be disabled. Hope this helps someone with the same issue .

P.D. Sorry again for my poor english.

I ran into a similiar problem on my SCSI drives. The only way I found short of trying another file system was a low-level format. Wonder if there is a bug with ext3?

Peace!

Maybe, because i have tried installing again fc5 with ext3, and worked, maybe the ext3 version of fc6 haves a bug.
