yum won't work


I just installed yum with no problems installing. Here is what I get when I run it.

[root@localhost etc]# yum list available
Insufficient server config - no servers found. Aborting.
[root@localhost etc]#

I am gathering that I don't have a server running that it needs.


I am running FC4

What do you mean you "just installed yum"? Yum is installed by default in FC4.

I didn't know that, I just switched from Suse. Do you know why I would get this result.

Because you didn’t install the preconfigured FC4 yum rpm, which would have said “already installed”?

If that’s what you did, then reinstall the FC4 version:

http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pu...2-7.noarch.rpm

Thanks, I will give that a try that when I get back home. Do you think I need to uninstall what I did.
