[SOLVED] yum update error

Hi all,

When I use the Activities > applications "software update" to update software.I got the error messages:

Could not get list of distribution upgrades
Failed to process request.
Method "SetHints" with signature "as" on interface "org.freedesktop.PackageKit.Transaction" doesn't exist

How to solve this problem?

run from the terminal and NOT the gui

as i recall there WAS an old bug that gave packagekit an error
run these 3 commands

Code:

su -

yum clean all
rpm --rebuilddb
yum update

I use terminal to update instead of GUI.

When i was using fedora the gui was a mess and a piece of junk for updating ( yumex was no better)

use the terminal most of the time .It will allow you to do WAY MORE things than a gui
the
------
yum clean all
rpm --rebuilddb
----------
is not needed MOST of the time
just" yum update" will do 99.99999% of the time
