X freezes on FC3, nfs related?

Hi there,

From time to time, my computer cannot find its NIS server (network shuts down, reboot server, whatever). Instead of carrying on, the computer freezes: only the mouse can move but no click acts... until the netork is back (all the windows called appears).

Google tells me several people faces this shit but no right answer so far. I tried a local login on my computer but still... knowing NIS is around leads to the freezing!

A few minutes ago, it happens and I was able to ping both the server and the client from an alternative machine so the eth card seems up...

Have you ever encounter that poisonning stuff? Have you some tips/tests to do? Configuration related? Hardware related? DO you have a similar config and no problem??

Any advice is welcome (even worshipping a obscur egyptian god I haven't tried yet ;-) )

Thanks for your help!
PY

PS: for info, I am using a DEll Dimension 4100...
