Unhappy WineX and FC2

Can someone help me, because I need a lot of it. More than just mental help. I've tried installing Wine and cvsWineX on both my laptop (HP ze4805us, AMD-m, 256Mb memory, 60Gb HDD) and on my work PC (Compaq D510, 2.4Ghz Intel, 256Mb memory) with no luck. Both PC's are dual bootable with FC2 and XP. I just can't quite understand what I'm doing wrong.

When I try to run, for example, setup.exe for Half-Life, I get the splash screen and it appears that it's going to install, then I get error messages on my terminal window, almost like it's missing a dll or something. This also happens for my work applications (ie X-Win32, Internet Exploder, etc).

The only thing that I can figure out is that I have something not set right in my config file. I've read several threads at LQ and even documentation at winehq.com and I'm still unable to get it to work.

Currently booted to Windows, if anyone would like examples of what I am seeing, please let me know and I will switch over to Linux and get them for you. I'd rather be on Linux anyhow.

Any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Eric

Download WineSetupTk. Don't know if that'll do any good for WineX, but it'll probably help.

Thanks, WMD!! I downloaded it and ran it, but still to no avail, I cannot get it to run properly. I'm at a loss.
