I use both of them....
and run the script.. /usr/bin/vmware-config-tools.pl ....

cp -f vmmemctl.ko ./../vmmemctl.o

The module loads perfectly in the running kernel.

I can't find any solution about this through the internet..
That's why I want to download another vesion..
How can I download the another version
I've searched a lot sourceforege..and vmware...and so on...
But I couldn't find yet ....
I don't want to re-install another vmware.....just want to download only vmware tool...
VMware site is being redesigned. Wait for them to finish then try to download.
I also suggest that you upgrade/reinstall to the Fedora 12 or 13. Fedora 8 is very old and there is large probability that VMware will not compile on Fedora 8.
Also, using rpm's to install should be the only way to install applications, to avoid dependency issues.
However, I should not change any environment of this vmware status..
Because, our project is designed under this version...
If I have to change from fedora8 to fedora 8 ..I could see many errors about the project....
Maybe I have to give up the shared folder under this version.....
Building long term project on 6-months-cycle distro is not wise. I suggest CentOS 5.x (Fedora 6 compatible and RHEL 5.x 99% clone) that has 7-years of support. You are already 2 years behind current fedora.
Even CentOS/RHEL 6 is due to come at the end of the year.
