Virtual Hosting

Hello,

I've been given the task at work to setup a Virtual Hosting server, as an expieriment, i am also to write a script to automatically create a website hosting account on the server. I've also been donated an ageing Dell PowerEdge server for my expierments.

I've had some expierance with Fedora before just as a hobby at home for the php/mysql/apache use (am a php programmer).

The way togo about setting up a virtual hosting server is through apache, and setting up "virtual name-hosts" am just wondering how many does apache support ? Or can i have 200+ sites on this box ? or is the hardware am using that limits the maximum i can host ? Also before i dive into this project is their any "need" to know things ? The do's and don'ts?

Much appreciated as allways,
Great Forums

Regards,
thomas.
