Using "apt"?

Someone told me to download "apt" utility to install packages to my Fedora Core 1 fresh install. I was able to install "apt" with no problem.

My main reason is that I want the look and feel of KDE 3.2 for my window manager.

I go to terminal and type:

# apt-cache search kde and get back massive results. How do I know which is KDE 3.2 environment to install?

Thanks for any help as this is all new to me.

download a utility called synaptic its a gui frontend for apt to be used within redhat/fedora etc.
you can just click the check box of what you want rather than checking with the apt-cache.
