SMP kernel not seeing second CPU

Hello I am trying to get a FC4 on a Compaq Proliant DL830 Dual P3/866. I've compiled my own 2.6.16 kernel (from kernel.org) on it with SMP support, but the kernel boots up (I am positive I have grub set to boot to the correct kernel) but the second CPU is not recognized.

I get this message from dmesg as well

mtrr: Serverworks LE detected. Write-combining disabled.
mtrr: your processor doesn't support write-combining
mtrr: Serverworks LE detected. Write-combining disabled.
mtrr: your processor doesn't support write-combining

It does have a ServerWorks ATA controller in it, and I've tried taking support out of the kernel for it and running off the generic ATA driver but it still won't see the second CPU.

Both prcoessors are good, the BIOS sees them both and posts ok. I've tried both Knoppix and the Ubuntu live CD as well, neither of them see the other CPU.

Any ideas?
