Services not log


How to eneable services logging in FC4?
/var/log/boot.log is empty

Check your syslog.conf. See what and where your output is being allocated. Check to see if your syslogd deamon is running or not.

# Everybody gets emergency messages
*.emerg *

# Save news errors of level crit and higher in a special file.
uucp,news.crit /var/log/spooler

# Save boot messages also to boot.log
local7.* /var/log/boot.log

daemon.* -/var/log/daemon.log

[extremal@extremal ~]$ ps ax| grep syslogd
1839 ? Ss 0:00 syslogd -m 0
