Question Screenshots Taken but no where to be found.???


hi,

On my Fedora Core 4, i want to make some screen shots..etc..
so i press "print" and nothing happens.. so i thaught maybe the button isn't configured.. so i configured the print screen button...

still does not take a screen shot.. buttons are configured correctly...

i looked on my desktop and home folder..
i am usally logged in as root

and my desktop is KDE 3.5

Can anyone please help me?

First, you really shouldn't log in as root except in rare situations! Certainly not as your "usual" login.

Second, after some experimentation, I found that pressing Alt+Print Screen takes a screenshot of the currently active window, while pressing Ctrl+Print Screen takes a screenshot of the whole desktop. Pressing Print Screen by itself doesn't seem to do anything (though this may depend on your setup). However, once you have captured the screenshot, you then need to paste it into a graphics program. I opened up the GIMP and pressed Ctrl+V to paste the screenshots into a picture, which could then be modified and saved as usual.

Does it save the screenshot to the clipboard like in *cough* Windows?

Meaning you can Ctrl+V it into gimp or OpenOffice.

hi,

yes i just tryed it... and sadly it acts just like windows

how can i make it auto safe on desktop or home directory?
