Question Require Raw devices on FC3 - New to Linux

I am new to Linux and am using Fedora FC3. I require to port an INFORMIX database to RedHat and need to create raw devices. I have successfully reached the point of using "parted /dev/hdb" ( creating two minor partitions ) but cannot locate the "rawdevices service" or "raw" command. Currently, the command and service does not exist on my server.

Q: Does this exist for this version of Fedora?
If so, how do I obtain/start the service?
..... "service rawdevices: No such file or directory"
..... "raw: command not found"
If not, what can be used in place of this command/service?

Any help would be appreciated.
