Recommend wireless for FC4?

Hi all,

Looking for any suggestions on a wireless PCI card (802.11g if possible) that works right out of the box (no ndiswrapper etc.)

Thanks for any help,
Rob

I don't think there is such a thing as an automatically self configuring and working wireless card... or none in my experience and from what I read on the web (may I don't search hard enough?)

However, if you like compilling for a short 25 seconds and having a super great card with a nice range and functionality, I suggest the card I have: Atheros .

Afterwards, it was as easy in Fedora Core 4, as ./configure, make, make install, and go through the network setup

What I am looking for is a Wireless G PCI card that has the driver support from a FC4 install.

I have tried several cards - and none of them have been recognized. I am chalking this up to being relatively new to linux - I am hoping not to mess with ndiswrapper etc.

Thanks,
Rob

Have you tried looking at the HCL. I normally try that place before I go buy anything. If you do not mind to use a usb card then I would recommend using Dlink DWL-G122. I use it on my laptop and it runs great. The suprising thing is that it runs better on linux than it did when I had Windows XP installed.
