Qt-Creator on Fedora 19

Hello,

I was a Ubuntu user, but I turned to Fedora and I'm loving it.

The only issue I'm dealing with is Qt-Creator. I Installed it from bash (yum install qt-creator), but the package looks incomplete. There's no icon for the launcher, and the Help is not working.

I also tried to install downloading the code (http://qt-project.org/downloads), but I get some errors on permissions etc.

In Ubuntu the package works just fine.

Can someone help me??

have a look using yum

look for the help and -devel files

did you uninstall the fedora rpm you installed with yum FIRST !!!

and WHAT permission issues ?????

fedora DOSE NOT !!!! use /usr/local !!!!
it uses /usr !
so in the configure line you MUST use the " --prefix=/usr " option

as a NORMAL USER !!!!
for autotools

./configure --prefix=/usr 
make 
su
------- the root password when asked  DO NOT USE " su - " !!! ----
make install

for using qmake it is a bit different
