Qmail-send and Qmail-smtpd not running

It appears as though service/qmail-smtpd, service/qmail-smtpd/log, service/send, and service/send/log do not exist. In lifewithqmail I could not find any instructions to make those directories

Am confusion.

Did you install the daemontools?

Sorry for long response delay. Daemontools seems installed. Patching is the same error:

patch < /usr/local/src/netqmail-1.06/other-patches/daemontools-0.76.errno.patch
patching file error.h
Reversed (or previously applied) patch detected!

Also, when ending qmail get this error:

Thank you so much in advance for any advice.

These 2 are actually symlinks:
Code:
ls -l /service/qmail-s*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 31 Jun 27  2014 /service/qmail-send -> /var/qmail/supervise/qmail-send/
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 32 Jun 27  2014 /service/qmail-smtpd -> /var/qmail/supervise/qmail-smtpd/
These symlinks are created when installing daemontools (from the instructions of LWQ (just above 2.8.2.3))
Quote:
Finally, link the supervise directories into /service:

ln -s /var/qmail/supervise/qmail-send /var/qmail/supervise/qmail-smtpd /service

The /service directory is created when daemontools is installed.
So make sure you're following the instructions to the letter.
