Hi,

I am a newbie with Linux.

I have just installed Fedora Core 3 on my system.
It is an IBM Aptiva pentium 3 with integrated 82810e graphics
and IBM E74 monitor.

My problem occurs when I boot up, I get the grub screen properly.
When I select Fedora it boots ok. Then I get a screen full of random
graphics. These then clear and I get the login screen.

Once i enter my login codes, I get another screen full of random
graphics and then coloured bars all over the screen.
This is as far as I get.

Does anyone have any suggestions please.

I had a similar problem on my Netvista. It's a known bug:

Switch to another console (eg. crtl+alt+F6) and edit your xorg config file to add the noaccel option as suggested.

I decided to start again with the install.
It the boot prompt on my install cd I typed
"linux text nofb noprobe skipddc"

Everything went perfectly and I am now up and running
and learning.
