Problem in logging in

Hi
I have fedora core 2 installed. Last time when my PC got "hanged" while in fedora, i reset my PC using reset button. After that when i tried to start linux, everything went fine, but when i was about to see the login prompt, the screen went blank and a strange message started getting diplayed(something like drm: and some number etc etc). Even though i tried to use other virtual consoles by pressing CTL+ALT+F1 etc., same oscillation between blank screen and the display of message continued, and i cant login.
Can anybody tell me how to fix it??I don't want to reinstall fedora as i have a lot of important files in there.

I would do a fresh install of FC6. Anything older then 5 is EOL'd. I expect 5 will be EOL'd in about another month with Fedora 7 being released in April.

EDIT: If you want something with a longer lifecycle, try an enterprise OS such as CentOS.
