Problem Booting GRUB

Hello everybody,
Iam facing problem booting GRUB.
The problem is,"Unable to initialize device /dev/hda8"
Previously, my harddisk is primary master and linux is on a logical device, so that it is on /dev/hda8.
But, i changed my hardisk to secondary master and so, it is getting the problem.

I went to recovery console, and observed
"e2label /dev/hdc8 which is as / ". That is Fine. But the fstab entry is as /dev/hda8 mounted on /. I tried to change the label and mount /dev/hdc8 on it, but it is saying that /dev/hda8 is already mounted on /. I tried to unmount it, but is not getting as expected.

This is my problem, please help me in giving some help or assistence in resolving this issue.

Thank you to all in advance

Warmth...

you'd get errors trying to unmount the primary linux partition (/) or hda8

try booting with a live CD such as knoppix, and editing grub from there.

i would boot up with a live CD (preferably slax or R.I.P) and manually edit your fstab, once you know all is correct then try booting it up...

Thank you very much !

Thank you very much for your worthy suggestion.
I resolved the problem with your answer and iam able to boot it now.
I used knoppix live cd in order to change the fstab entries to my new settings.

Thank you.
