Preventing overwrite prompt when copying

Hello,

I'm using FC5, and I need to copy hundreds of files from one directory to another, overwriting the current contents. When I do this, I get the prompt to overwrite (the -i flag is added by default). I've passed the -f flag, but this makes no difference. I do not want to have to edit the default options of the command itself...I just want to prevent the overwrite prompt this one time. Suggestions anyone?

Thanks,
TWR
