Nvidia Driver for FEDORA CORE 7?
Hi friends,
I have got Nvidia GeForce 6200 TurboCache GPU. I am trying to enable 3D effects on Fedora Core 7. For which I will have to install NVIDIA Drivers. I have two options:
1.] http://rpm.livna.org/fedora/7/i386/
2.] http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html
Which one should I go for ? In case you want me to try first option then in that event many versions of kmod-nvidia drivers are available. You can check at the link given above. Again which version should I go for in livna repository. The driver should be stable thus it should not corrupt Graphical Booting and should at the same time enable 3D effects for me. Waiting for your replies...
use the first one. but your best option is to actually install this: http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-7.rpm and then run "yum install xorg-x11-drv-nvidia" and let yum automatically pick the right version for you from livna. then also runnign "yum update" will take into account updates in that driver too...

How could I recover my X-Window System?
Recovering X-Window System has always been a tough nut to crack for me.....Can any one please give step by step procedure to recover X-Window System....
you could try and see if there is a backup of the original xorg.conf lying there, there usually is.
You could try
ls /etc/X11/
there might be something like
xorg.conf~
xorg.conf.backup
etc...
If there is, you could be lucky. Just delete xorg.conf:
sudo rm xorg.conf
and restore the backup:
cp xorg.conf~ xorg.conf (or whatever your backup is called)
