Newbie here and I looked for the way to switch from Gnome to KDE in Gnome.... how can I do this in FC2. FC1 was easy but form some reason I can't seem to find it. Hell I guess I still do need my mother to help me find things. =/

for those who want to know I found these two ways but only tride the first method.

1) Open Terminal and type "switchdesk KDE" for switching to KDE. I would imagine that going "switchdesk Gnome" would reverse it.

2) some mention editing a file in "/etc/sysconfig/desktop" and chaning something in there to KDE. this is the one I have not tried yet.

also, apt-get install switchdesk-gui....

I had no idea what desktop Im running on and tried both switchdesk KDE and switchdesk GNOME but I found no difference and nothing happened.

[root@localhost root]# switchdesk KDE

You need to restart your X window so that it can load into the desktop you assigned.

Why wouldn't you just choose your window manager from the login screen?

ye why wouldnt you just do it from the login manager before you login

Yes. The only I got it to work was when I switched session. I thought I could change when Im in one desktop mode.
