MonoDevelop IDE wont open files

So I just installed the monodevelop IDE using sudo yum -y install monodevelop. Whenever I try to open a file I get a popup saying the file <filepath/file.cpp> could not be opened. Exception thrown by type initializer Mono.TextEditor.Utils.TextFileUtility. I wanted a good IDE for c++ dev so I'm trying this as well as eclipse.

if you need an IDE for C++
then do not install a tool for MICROSOFT " c# "
c# and C++ are NOT the same

for c++
vi
emacs
-- a IDE like VS --
eclipse

If I wanted to use c# as well later on, that's still a problem. Thanks though

install Eclipse

it is in the fedora repos

fedora 22 is NOT using yum any longer
