Logs stop working

Hi there,

For some strange reason my logs stop working and i dont
get to see any mail logs, security logs and system logs.

After restarting syslogd there are no previous logs so I
cant quite figure out how and why the logs stop working.

Anyone able to give me a hand

Verify the syslogd package's contents with the package manager.
Verify the contents of /etc/syslog.conf.
Stop syslogd.
Start syslogd manually and check for on-screen or dmesg errors.
If you encounter any errors you're unable to fix yourself: please post *exact* error messages.

I found that removing syslog and logwatch then reinstalling them fixes these problems.
