Is there a way to configure Xfree86 (I've googled it) and have it do a clone to your external monitor but at a higher resolution. Windows can do it so I know it's not a hardware limitation.
Has anyone done this with a HP Pavilion laptop or with a laptop with a ATI 320M grapics chip.
