Hi, just got a server up and running with Fedora Core 5 installed. We are using it mostly as a mail server. Some users like to access mail with Netscape using imap protocol. I can not get these users connected through imap. Can someone tell me what I can do to see if imap is available and how to connect? I also need to get Squirrelmail installed which needs imap also

you need to install dovecot.rpm on your comp first.
mount your dvd and install the rpm.
you would need to edit the /etc/dovecot.conf file and unhash the line where it has the imap and pop3 ports listed. after that start the service and enable it on each reboot

service dovecot start
chkconfig dovecot on

you could also do a
yum install dovecot
if you want to have the latest version of it.

you can also check if the IMAP port is being listened on

netstat -na | grep LISTEN

Thanks, got imap running but still having trouble subscribing to folders. Are there any utilities or commands to test logins?
