ok this is easy, this is exactly what you do, open up a terminal window and enter the following:

Code:
[user@localhost /]# su
Password: (enter root password you set at install)
[root@localhost /]# apt-get install system-config-network
(then it will download and install)
[root@localhost /]#system-config-network
that should set you on your way, that utility sets up ethernet drivers... good luck

It should help if you give us the model number of your motherboard. With that model number, you can find what chipset model it uses ( chipset are the traffic cops on the motherboard ). It should likely be an Intel, VIa or Nforce ( from Nvidia ) chipset.
Don't expect to find any Linux drivers on the motherboard manufacturer website, you'll have to download it directly from the chipset manufacturer website.
