How to use Epson LX 300+ printer on fedora core 6

Hi everybody.
I am using Epson LX 300+ dot matrix printer with my pc.Previously I am able to take printouts from it by using windows xp/2000 but now its not working with fedora core 6.I have tried to install it by using add new printer option.But still its not working.Cups is instaaled on my system.Whether I have to install some more packages.Is there any way to take the printouts from command prompt.I want to learn about the both ways i.e. through command mode as well as graphical mode.

Here is what Linuxprinting has to say about the LX300+

They consider it a paper weight. They are usually correct. So unless you are up to writing a print driver, it may be time to consider another printer. If you have to print under linux, ( who doesn't ) be sure to look at Linuxprintig.org for printers known to work, before you buy one.

I recently bought a Brother laser ( black and white ) Brother supplied a driver, works as advertised. Less than $200 at Staples.
