Lightbulb How to recover "Shift Delete" deleted files?

Hi all

I got home last night and there was a A4 piece of paper on the compter with big writing on it which said:

Whoops.... Urgent
Please retrieve email phots folder from the trash.

So I have a looksee in the trash and there was not much there. They right clicked the folder using Konqueror and clicked on delete (Shift-delete).

Is there a way to retrieve files from this sort of mishap. Maybe something like the programs they have in windows that can help retrieve files before they get overwritten.

Not a major if not as it is only resized photos for emailing. Does jog me to back up my data which I havent done for a couple of months though.

Look forward to any replies or help you can give me on this.

Cheers Gimmee (I dont want anything thats just my nickname)

It's just the recovery software you were thinking of. In addition to Windows those programs do exist for other platforms also, including Linux. So hop on, do a web search and download one you like. Note: many/most of them are something you're supposed to pay for, and probably just show you "I could retrieve these files, if you paid $200". But there are some free pieces also, so go on

If it's not crucial, you probably don't want to pay a lot for it, so try to search the free programs.
