I have a HP LaserJet 3600n running nicely on my F14 box. On my new F20 box, Settings -> Printers -> Add New Printer does not detect any printers, but when I enter my 3600n's address (10.0.0.35) in the address input box, HP-Color-LaserJet-3600 is added. The model is displayed as "HP Color LaserJet 2500". Clicking "Print Test Page" wakes up the printer, but nothing is printed. When I click on the Model and -> Select from database..., HP LaserJet 3600 is not listed. It is on my f14 box.
I'm apparently missing something, here. Can anyone advise on how to get my printer running from my f20 box?
Thanks ferrari. I've seen several suggestions to run hp-setup as root, but I get "command not found...". I can't find hplib with # rpm -qa hplib. Or is there something else I have to do first?
With reference to your link, I have downloaded hplib-3.14.6.run (appears to be a shell script), but I cannot run it as a non-root user with $ sh hplib-3.14.6.run (I get No such file or directory). I can run it as root, but I'm advised not to do that. Protection mask is 777.

No, you would need to install as root. It has to write to system directories.
According to the HPLIP Install Wizard, 'Fedora 20 supplies HPLIP 3.12.10a and it does support your printer', so could just use your package manager (yum) to install the required package.
Thanks ferrari, I have used yum to install hplip plus dependencies. I have re-defined my printer on its address, and this time, the Model is displayed as "HP Color LaserJet 3600", as expected. Print Test Page produces the expected output. Problem fixed, thanks!
