is it offical rpm of kernel? if its so, try to change your language to english. some software doesnt work well if the system language isnt english.

u can try to install kernel from source. it will take much while. but u can choose what type of hardware and other options will be supported by kernel. so your kernel will be smaller, works better. i have fedore core 1 . i have compiled a costum kernel from source of kernel 2.6.4 for a while ago. but i must warn u that costum kernel compiling is hard. i think u can compile kernel by reading http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...threadid=91503 .redhat and fedora are similiar

Hello,

thanks for info. i tried already to compile the custom kernel with source 2.6.5.
after start i got a kernel panic with a message about policies dependencies...

before compiling a custom kernel i tried to install the new kernel image 2.6.5 from fedora ftp.
but that also doesnt work.

kernel 2.6.3 works fine on my machine...

so what shall i do to get the prism driver get installed.

because this is the only thing that interests me at this moment in the new kernel.

add this option to /etc/grub.conf
enforcing=0
and see if it works. I guess it is going to take a while to get used to selinux
