As far as I know Yahoo does not have its messenger for Fedora/Linux. Fedora does have Pidgen (Linux in general has a few others.) which you can use instead. Or there is an online version of Yahoo Messenger as well.
Empathy is the current Gnome Chat Client. It works with Yahoo, MSN and several other Chat services. There is also GYachi Enhanced Yahoo Client as well which you can download through the Add/Remove Softwate package manager.
