FC5 DVDROM not mounting

Hi Friends,

I recently installed FC5 on my Compaq Presario US905. I did the default setup without adding or removing any software.... now when I want to add new applications, I put the CD1 in the DVD Drive but its not mounting at all.... i thought the CD is corrupt... but then I found out that I am not able to mount any of the CDs.

Please suggest me what to do.

i suggest you check your fstab
make sure if your dvd is hdb, hdc, or hdd.
then, check the /etc/fstab for an entry like this:
(assuming your dvd drive is hdc and there is a folder in /mnt called 'dvd')

/dev/hdc /mnt/dvd udf,iso9660 user,owner,noauto,ro 0 0

Thanks Krussell,

I am able to mount it manually no.... but when i put a DVD/CD in the drive the system is not auto mounting it.
