FC2+microphone

I have SBLive!5.1 and sound output works just fine. But I can't make my microphone work. Sound recorder crashes when I try to record sound, other apps just record silence. I've tried to do something with mixers, all sliders are up, but no luck.
I have a dual-boot system with WinXP and microphone works fine in Win. So where is the problem, maybe someone has microphone working in FC2?

I have a VoIP application and I really need microphone.
I'm new to Linux so please help me!

I have FC2, kernel 2.6.5-1.358

I still have the same problem. Recording works, but only in Skype en GnomeMeeting.
When you install gnomemeeting with Yum or Apt, there will be a few depency's solved, things for
sound recording. You can try that, maybe it solves your problem.
