Failure getting http://rpm.livna.org/fedora/7/i386/repodata/repomd.xml?

I am using yum over proxy server
Before running yumex, I had run:

Code:

yum clean all
yum clean metadata
rm -fr /var/cache/yum/*

but I get error

Quote:

Failure getting http://rpm.livna.org/fedora/7/i386/repodata/repomd.xml
[Error 12] Timeout: <urlopen timed out error>

and finally was:

If I disabled livna repo or remove it, after running yum, I get error:

I don't know what is filelists.sqlite.bz2, other.sqlite.bz2, primary.sqlite.bz2... and it function

Assuming you are running Fedora 7.

Run:
yum -y erase livna-release-7-2

Then:
rpm -Uhv http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-7.rpm

Then try again

Can you explain the feature of repomd.xml file?

repomd.xml is the repository metadata file in xml format. It contains all the apps that are available in a nice little file for that repository.
Since yum is not working due to livna (there is a workaround but lets just get rid of livna instead and reinstall), please run this command.

rpm -e livna-release-7-2

then
rpm -Uhv http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-7.rpm
