F15: If nouveou drivers are working well, should I still install proprietary nvidia

I am new to Fedora--I have successfully installed F15 on my Dell vostro 3700 laptop with an nvida graphics card. Gnome 3 is performing well (i.e. compositing is working out of the box using nouveou drivers.

Will I benefit from prop drivers installation?

Thanks
sl

Depends on what you do with the system. If you need to run 3D applications or want to benefit from video-acceleration via VDPAU you should install the proprietary drivers. I don't know about the power-saving functions in nouveau, but since this is a laptop you may also get a longer runtime from the proprietary drivers.

As you've already seen, you do not need the proprietary driver for 3D! Nouveau was intended to be a complete replacement: it's taken a time to get there, but it works. If you find something's not working well in your display you can try Nvidia's driver, but if there are no problems, leave well alone.
