Enable cd as source for yum??

I need the kernel source so i can install my driver for my
wireless card--rt61.
So how do i add the install FC7 dvd as the source, i think the
kernel source is the dvd i downloaded.

You will confuse yum if you use the cd stuff - all versions must be in sync so:

yum update kernel

followed by

yum install kernel-devel

That's why i asked about using the install dvd to install my kernel source.
Thanks anyway though.

OK you obviously have some form of access to the net so download the rpm, copy it to CD or whatever then copy it onto your FC7 system and install it.

from http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mj...html#kernelsrc

Quote:
Obtaining Kernel Source (for default Fedora 7 kernel)

The default kernel source can be found through any Fedora mirror. Look in the directory "/source/SRPMS/" under the "/7/" directory . For example: http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pu.../source/SRPMS/.

kernel-2.6.21-1.3194.fc7.src.rpm 24-May-2007 09:26 45M
then

sudo rpm -ivh kernel-2.6.21-1.3194.fc7.src.rpm

Only if your driver build calls for it.
