Downloaded DVD iso dows not boot

I have recently downloaded the FC-4 DVD.iso. I burned it on my Linux box, both as a .iso, then mounted it, copied the files to a DVD, then burned it. In both cases, I can't boot to the DVD??

Are there any directions on how this is done? When I have previously downloaded/burned the CD version, they booted just fine.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated,
Ralph

Um, well, "burning it as a .iso" is not, actually, what you need to do. You need to "burn the iso image" as an image, no a file.

You didn't specify which program you used to burn the cd, but, for example, if you use K3b, there's an option under "Tools" to "Burn a DVD iso image."

You can also create a GRUB floppy boot, and have GRUB boot directly from the image on you HD, so you don't, actually, need to burn the image to a real DVD. (Of course, the image needs to be on a drive different from the one to which you want to install Fedsora.)

problem solved using K3B

Thanks for the reply. I located an article on the KDE DVD/CD burning application K3B...worked great.

Thank you again...and happy holidays,
Ralph
