Cylinder Reading on IBM R30

Hi All,

am following suggestions here,
http://media.wiley.com/product_anci...a2_Advisory.pdf
for installing Fedora 2 on my IBM R30 with Windows already installed, and got the following readout with fdisk,

Disk /dev/hda: 80.0 GB, 80026361856 bytes
240 heads, 63 sectors, 10337 cylinder units = cylinders of 15120 * 512 = 7741440 bytes

Which figure do I enter at boot from this...?
boot: linux hda=????, 240, 63

Cheers.

umm have not read pdf too lazy but this link may assist
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=238557

2) see your cylinder figure 10337
that may be it but you need to be using a non-Fc2 partitiion tool

3) independent cds like knoppix or resccd or a floppy like toms may assist.

4) I may have failed maths, heh heh but 240 heads by 63 sectors by 10337 does not equal 15120 but 156295440 then that new number by 512 bytes gives 800023265280

try it yourself at http://www.calculator.com/
