Hi guys,
I'm running Fedora 10 with KDE. I've just enabled the desktop effects, & then it crashed back to the login screen. Now everytime I try to login, the screen goes black & crashes back to the login screen again. I just want to get the desktop effects turned off & switch it back to standard settings. I've tried starting in text only mode & changing the xorg.conf file. Heres what I tried:
PHP Code:
cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.backup
...to back up the file, but it says the file isn't found. Then I was going to use (tried it anyway to see what came up):
PHP Code:
vi /etc/X11/xorg.conf
...to open with the vi editor but I can't find the Extensions section (or anything for that matter!) when I press
i, so I can't change from "Enable" to "Disable". I saw this on another forum (I had a good look for an answer before I posted so as not to waste anyones time!) & aparently it worked for some other dude, but he didn't specify what ver of Fedora he was using. I should have left my desktop alone, it looked good enough before I did it & I'd just got everything configured the way I wanted it
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Cheers!
