Smile Auto Update


I have fedora core 6 installed in my computer. The performance is quite good. I have a question which is why always have sound speaker out. I suspicious this is the auto update have successful update something. I don't like auto-update because for newbie i need to know what i update. I here, i would like to confirm with all of you whether that sound is auto-update. If that sound is auto-update, how i going to disable it?

Thanks for oyur help.

To disable auto update

Open main menu/system/services and scroll down to the bottom of the list, there should be a check mark next to yum updatesd or similar, remove the check mark, make sure it is highlighted and click on Stop at the top. Then click Save at the top so it is not started upon re-boot.
